Day 185, 2010

Happy 4th Everyone! I hope you all all enjoying a relaxing and wonderful day with loved ones. We absolutely had nothing on our agenda today so we just enjoyed this beautiful day outside with the dogs and gorgeous sunshine! Katie is getting used to Daisy so this is one of our first shots of them in the same photo. Daisy just adores Kate, but Kate is making sure she knows who's the Alpha Dog. lol

Day 184, 2010

We celebrated the 4th with Doug's Family today instead of tomorrow since everyone had other commitments. We had a wonderful day. Doug's Mom, Dad, Sister and Brother-in-Law joined Doug, Ashlea, Richie and I for a cookout at our house (Alex was at a friends). We had a nice relaxing dinner outside. BUT... I Forgot to take photos of our guest! DUH! As soon as everyone left I said, "I Forgot to get the camera out!" So instead you get a picture of a frog that Daisy found and gave the ride of it's life to today. I'm sure this little toad is thanking God for his life because Daisy thought it a chew toy and decided to run all over the yard with him/her before finally dropping her on the deck. WHEW... Sorry little fella! :)

Well, I was sitting at the computer working on my photoshop and Daisy was in my lap..., then she went half on my lap, half on the desk and all I can say was she didn't find it too interesting because she instantly went to sleep! LOL I snapped the photo with the monitor camera on the computer.

Day 182, 2010

Can you believe it? We are half way through 2010 and half way through Project 365!!! I can't believe it, it has been so much fun watching everyone's Project 365 blogs and getting to know their families. Those from the Cricut Message Board (and open to anyone) were invited to make a "flat me" of themselves using Paper Doll Dress Up Carts, then we mailed a flat me of each of us to each of the others to celebrate this very day. Here are my fellow 365'ers, this was so much fun! There were 13 that signed up, I only ended up with 10 including my own, but I've got serious road construction going on my street and all the mailboxes have been moved and at times unreachable, so if you sent me yours and it's not in the photo, don't stress, it will probably show up eventually and I'll add it to my vase and take a new photo!

Ashlea, Alex and I were watching Hell's Kitchen tonight. I found a couple pony tail rings on the table beside me, so I reached over and did Ashlea's hair... isn't it lovely!?!?! LOL She's a good sport!

I haven't had new porch furniture for awhile now and we've been looking since the beginning of summer, but just never found something we liked enough, today I found this set and we got it. It's been storming all day, so we haven't been able to enjoy it yet, but I never thought I was particular, but like I said, I just couldn't find anything I liked enough to justify buying. I'm not sure how the cream colored cushions will hold up in our weather, but they are zip off covers so I can wash them.

Day 177, 2010

It finally was nice enough today that we finished up the new door trim, paint, and hardware. It looks so much better than the old one. We took the old door and put it on the garage side door and again, made a huge difference. Can you believe I got it all painted without one animal sticking her tail or body up next to the paint!?!? I can't! LOL

Day 176, 2010

Got up early today and took Daisy and Katie to the vet for Daisy's first shots and Katie's yearly boosters. Last night Katie didn't want anything to do with her, now she will be in the same room at least... it will take a bit of time.

Well today is the day! We finally got to go pick up Daisy and bring her home tonight. She is just absolutely ADORABLE! :)

Day 173, 2010

Earthquakes and tornadoes... oh my! Yep... today we felt an earthquake in South Bend. Just slightly, but I felt it. I was at my desk and felt my chair rocking. I thought one of my co-workers were messing with me. Apparently there was a 5.5 Earthquake in Canada and we could feel it. Isn't that wild?!?! Then, as if that wasn't enough, I go home and watch the weather gradually turn into this major storm. I mean the tornado sirens were going, the sky turned pitch black. The pic below was taken about 8:00.. it's normally still light outside. It was kind of scary. Thankfully, Alex had gotten home about 1/2 hour or so before the storm hit and Doug, Ashlea, Richie, Alex, the animals and I were all safe and sound at home. There were several rotations in our area.. I haven't heard yet if any touched down. Our area is still suffering from a bad storm last Friday night. Thousands were without power, and now a lot more. We (knock on wood) have kept power through both storms... but our road is an absolute mess! (Don't get me started!).

Day 173, 2010

Today was Richie's 23rd Birthday. Happy Birthday, Richie. We took Ashlea and Richie out for dinner (Alex is at IU taking his placement tests), then back home where we had birthday cake made by Ashlea. She was so proud of her cake, it was the first time she'd ever made one! :)

Day 172, 2010

Monday... ugh... Is it Friday, yet? LOL I'm off on Thursday and Friday this week, so Mon-Wed is going to feel like FOREVER! :)
Ashlea came home from work not feeling good today. She has a lot of trouble with allergies and sinus, so she got comfy and napped on the couch. Of course Lacey thought that was a fantastic idea!

Day 171, 2010

Anyway... another day.. nothing exciting, but the Lillies (Is that how you spell plural Lilly?) have bloomed. I love watching everything come alive all summer. We've tried to stage our backyard, so there's always something new bursting with color. Just love flower pics.. I'm sure you're getting a bit tired of pictures... but as I said.. nothing exciting to take a photo of today. Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful dads out there. We are still working on the door... sorry Doug! :P!

Day 170, 2010

Today we spent the day installing a new back door. Obviously it's not done yet. We've got to trim it out and put the glass door on... but this is what we got done today. It is SOOOO gorgeous here today. It just couldn't get any better. Nice breeze...beautiful sky... Amazing. We had a BIG storm yesterday and about 1/2 of the city is without power today, the street lights are out and a lot of businesses closed.. (I live in semi-large city).
When we got done with the door we decided to take a breather in the hammock.. and I thought the view was very cool, so I got my camera and these are my views from a hammock..
Aren't we silly!! So we don't look all that great.. we're pooped...shopping for the door stuff, then home, remove the old door, the old jam, etc.. then put in the new one.. get it squared up... we called it a day... will finish tomorrow.

Day 169, 2010

Went out to feed the fish and thought I haven't taken a pond picture in awhile.. so here it is. They are calling for rain tonight, so probably be my only shot a a POTD.. both kids are gone and we're not doing much, other than going out for dinner... Date night... ! WOW!
