Last Fall a local store was throwing away a bunch of rose bushes that looked like they long gone. Doug loves to tinker around with plants and such, so he asked if he could have them. He took them to his house and put them in his dark basement but near one of the small basement windows.... well, look what he brought me today. These are from the basement!!! Isn't that amazing?!?!

Day 119, 2010
Even though Alex is on the injured list and can't play ball yet, he has to wear slacks, dress shirt and tie to school on game days. Which for this week was Tues, Wed, Thur and Friday. Next week it's Mon, Tues, Wed and Thur.... so I spend each night or morning ironing his dress clothes and tying is tie. You would think it wouldn't be a big deal.. but let's just say... when it comes to time to change for the game... this shirt, pants and tie will be wadded into a big ball and shoved into his gym bag.... it's not pretty.. everything has to be cleaned and repressed by the time he's done with it!! LOL

Day 118, 2010
I came home with one thing in mind.. I wanted to do a class with Jessica Sprague... all week I've been trying to get one in and one thing after another keeps coming up... so tonight, I came home, got the things done that "Needed" to be done, then sat down to do a class and I got visitors. Ashlea and Richie came in and chatted, so I didn't get a class done, but it was fun to talk with them.

This is a Rhododendron that is in my backyard. It's raining today and it just really made the blooms standout, so I snapped some photos. This Rhododendron I bought about 20 years ago. I loved it and when I moved to South Bend, I dug it up and brought it with me, then we I moved to the house I'm living in now (about 9 years ago), we dug it up again and moved it. It has never failed to bloom and look beautiful. I encourage you to double click on the photos, you can see the raindrops on it, I think it's so pretty.

Day 114, 2010
You've seen the commercials for Ashton Kutcher and the Nikon Coolpix that you can write on the screen, well I got that for Christmas and it's the camera I carry in my purse. This morning we went to breakfast at a place that is known for being so slow...but they have the most amazing sausage gravy over hashbrowns and biscuits, so it's well worth it. Anyway... back to my story... we were waiting for our yummy breakfast to arrive and I started messing around with the camera and made this. Doug said, "Lorrie, you've got too many gadgets in that purse!" lol Ashlea took the photo, I just added the embellishments!

Day 111, 2010
I have a problem. I am a crafting supply hoarder! I have gotten much better since I've drastically reduced my time on the Cricut Messageboard and all the enabling that goes on there, but just the other day I poppped on to check out something that a fellow Messageboarder mentioned and I saw this "Tuesday Morning"... so I thought about it and next thing I know I clicked. "Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Martha Stewart Punches, K & CO"... well guess what I did at lunch today... Do I need these supplies... NO... Did I really want any of this stuff.... well kind of.... would I have enough to craft for the rest of my crafting days without ever buying another thing.... ABSOLUTELY... oh the insanity of buying/shopping for craft stuff.... seriously... I need help!

Day 108, 2010
Doug, Ashlea and I went Mushroom hunting today. Though we didn't find any mushroom, but we came across this old barn in the woods. I thought it was very cool looking. I edited the original photo to give it this "antiquey" look. I thought it was kind of interesting in lieu of a pure black and white or sepia.

my 2 page 1 week layout for April 11-17, 2010
Well folks, this is probably my least favorite layout to date, but I'm still trying to use the Haiti kit and I tried changing papers, I changed the journaling element 3 times, I changed the embellishments a couple of times and it just wasn't going anywhere, I finally just said.. "Heck, go with it.. next week do something different. SO... here it is. This week has been sooo super busy with baseball every night right after work, then home and try to get something around for dinner before going to bed... I just decided it wasn't worth stressing over. The big picture is, I stayed on track and it's completed. This week only two baseball games. :) See.. it all evens out in the end.
Day 107, 2010
Well we did have a double header today (2 games), but I didn't take photos for you of Alex batting for a change! LOL I did go to the ballpark and afterward I took a photography class at a local camera shop and when I got home I was excited to go out and try out the Shutter Speed/Aperature/ISO settings (don't think for a moment I actually understand any of that, but I know how to change them! LOL) Anyway.. here's my photo of water in motion. I wish it was faster moving water because I was trying to see the difference in freezing motion and making it appear as a blur... but the water from our fountain is not fast enough to see much of a difference. Anyway... it is what it is. :)

Day 101, 2010
Doug has been not feeling really great and he always has a lot of trouble with his feet, so I surprised him today and made appointments for us both to get pedicures. He didn't know where we were going till we got there. He was really loving the messaging chair! I thought he was snoozing a couple of times.

Day 100, 2010
I can't believe we're at day 100! Wow. I really didn't think I'd stick with it...but hey, what do you know, I have and now I'm so caught up in all of your lives. I can't wait each day to see what everyone is doing or where they went. Thanks, Bridget.... YOU STARTED IT! :)
Ashlea, Doug and I went up to Michigan to this amazing greenhouse called Vites. Every year we go and get our hanging baskets on Mother's Day. This is very, very early and all those baskets hanging will literally be 4 or 5 times in size. Can't wait till we go back and I take photos, you'll be amazed.

Day 99, 2010
Today I went straight from work, picked up Ashlea at home and we headed down to Lakeville (about 20 minutes away) to see Alex's baseball game. I didn't take my good camera, so the baseball pictures aren't too great. Then Ashlea and I went to a Stampin' Up workshop at my friend, Lori's house. Jodie was there too. Afterward, Lori had bought these cute boxes for Jodie, Lori and I to make cardboxes, so we got started on those.

Day 98, 2010
I took this photo yesterday - I'm running like a crazy woman this week, so Tuesday night I took a few photos in advance....sorry, but baseball is in full swing and unless you want baseball pics every day. We drove around in the country just looking for things for me to photograph. I turned this black and white. I thought it turned out pretty neat.

Day 96,2010
I told Doug I wanted to get some different photos since I've been resorting to taking pics of the kids eating fast food (lol), so he took me for a drive tonight and we found some really neat shots. When we were done and headed home we drove past this alpaca farm, so he turned around and I shot a couple more photos. I couldn't resist.. you know me, Dr. Doolittle, I started making these really weird noises so they would look up at me. Aren't they cute?!?!

Day 95, 2010
Happy Dyngus Day! You're supposed to have Polish Sausage, Boiled Potatoes and Kraut for dinner on Dyngus Day, but everyone was going in different directions at different times, so as you can see... Ashlea had fast food, I ate leftover Potato Salad (Always makes me want to say "Tater SALAD and my son Tater TOT" like they do in Blue Collar Comedy) LOL. Anyway.... Here's Ashlea with Katie subtly asking for a french fry.

my 2 page 1 week layout for April 1-3, 2010
My April 1-3, 2010 - layout. You know I start my layouts on Sundays, this is the beginning of my April theme. I'm going to use the Port Au Prince kit for April just to mix things up a bit. I've been in the happy bright themes for awhile, so I wanted to change up. This is very very Simple, but I've been so busy with classes I didn't have time to make a complex template this week.
day 94, 2010
This is Danni (Danielle), Doug's niece. Doug's sister invited us over for Easter dinner and Danni was showing me the awesome bread she made (it has a specific name, but I forget)... anyway.. she had a picture on her Iphone. We had a great time, the weather was gorgeous, food was great (except for my carrot cake which was not done in the middle...errrrrr). Happy Easter, everyone!

day 92, 2010
The Forsythia Bushes are blooming. My boss gave us half a day off in honor of Good Friday, when I got home I was anxious to get outside an enjoy this first week of warm weather (above 70). I grabbed the camera and headed out to the Forsythia that were in full bloom, Ashlea said... "when did we get those... have those always been there?"... I just found it oddly humorous. It's not like we live on acres and acres of land.. we live in town on about an acre lot (probably a bit smaller)... and she just noticed these bushes?!???
