Used the Red Box rental tonight to rent and then watch this movie..... it's such a fun movie that leaves you with a happy feeling.  What a character Julia Child was.  Meryl Streep, as always, is amazing!  If you haven't seen this and you like cooking and blogging, then you really should watch this.  Even if you don't like either of them... it's just a "feel good" movie.

Is it me or did we get an unusual amount of Black Friday/Thanksgiving weekend sale flyers... OH my gosh!  They just keep coming!  I didn't do any shopping.  Well I went to Walmart on Friday morning, but spent about 5 minutes walking around and decided it wasn't for me!

Yesterday Doug and I received a cord of wood... tis the season... well let me tell you... they delivered it and dumped it into a large pile in the middle of the driveway.... Doug and I stacked it.. it's two rows thick by about 18 -20 feet long by 4 ft tall.. it was a lot of wood and mamma feels it today!  UGH

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!   I can't believe we had 16 guests for dinner and a ton and a half of food and I did not take any photos until after dinner and then only a few.  I just had too much going on trying to get everyone ready at the same time and then the dogs were in the crate and getting restless and well you know how it goes... anyway... here's a picture of my brother and part of his family after dinner.  I don't think I've ever shown him before... this is Tom, Deb and their youngest Matthew.  Michael and his Girlfriend must've been in the other room.

Trying to work on Christmas cards here and there... I've been so busy with Thanksgiving prep and day to day stuff that it snuck up on me.. I usually have my cards done way before now.   This was my first attempt at colored pencils with Gamsol.  It was fun, but unfortunately I color like a 5 year old! :)

Well I'm afraid this is becoming a food blog!  Since the kids are gone and I no longer have to please everyone, we' ve really been enjoying cooking.  Tonight's menu.. chinese.  I really don't use any kind of recipe, I just throw stuff in till it looks/taste right.   This started out to be beef stir fry, but with the noodles and such.. it's beef, broccoli stir fry-ish  :)  I didn't make the spring rolls.  There's a woman who makes these and cells them at a gas station... you know one of those that has some hot foods you can buy... well they are just the best, so Doug picked up the spring rolls today, I made the rest.

I am still exhausted from the time zone change from traveling and then the Daylight Savings time change... ugh.  When we were gone we were in Arizona (which never changes time), so eventhough this map shows them 2 hours behind us... they are three prior to Daylight savings time... so what I'm saying.. is this.  I got up at 4AM our time to travel to Phoenix.  We ate Dinner at 7:30 (their time), which is 10:30 PM MY time!.. then I wake up because I, like most people have an internal time clock which wakes me up at precisely 6am everyday... well that was 3AM their time.... and so it went for 3 more days.. and then I come home and try and readjust... and now we changed the clocks... UGH... Why can't everyone just be on the same time?!?!?! :)

Went to Bed Bath & Beyond today.  They had this flavor candle on sale.  I just love candles and always have a couple burning.  This one smells yummy!

Took a photo of Daisy today... well took several actually, but she turned 6 months while I was gone and I have been taking a picture of her on each month birthday so that I could incorporate it into a card to send to the breeder that we got her from.  He's the front of the card.

Another meeting day.  Tonight is dinner off site.  Seems all we do is meet and eat... 3 large meals a day I feel my thighs growing as we speak!!!

It really is pretty here, but hard to capture in a photo.. at least with a point and shoot.  Had meetings today from 8 until about 1:30, then read by the pool till dinner time.
