Final January layout

Since I'm doing my weeks Sunday to Saturday, but also doing month at a time color schemes I needed to do one final layout for today to finish out January. Here's the final January layout. I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do on the opposing page since February 1-6 will require two pages... if you have any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Day 31, 2010

Today's POD is of my daughter Ashlea at work. I went to tan today where she works. You can tell she just loves me taking her photo! lol She's very excited about her new job. She worked at another tanning salon for the last year and half and just started this job last week. She works while going to college full time, I'm so proud of her.

Day 30, 2010

Doug and I went out for lunch today at a new place in town called Bar Louie. We ordered a simple cheeseburger... look at the size of this thing!! I could only eat half and I was STUFFED.

Day 29, 2010

A full moon. It was a full moon tonight and normally my family doesn't sleep well, we get upset with one another and/or something strange happens. I think we are all part Wearwolf. I saw the moon on the way home from Mishawaka with Ashlea and we both said... "Oh No"!

Day 28, 2010

Is this not the CUTEST card EVER!!?!?! I came home today to find a special surprise in the mail from Barb (Snowmanlover). I think this is just the most adorable card I've ever seen. The photo just doesn't do it justice. The sugar lumps are Dazzling Dimonded, the red eyelet matches the scalloped heart.. .It's just sooooo cute! I had to call B and ask her if she minded if I bought the same stamps... though I could never do anything as cute as this with the same supplies. She's so sweet... i just want to pinch her cheeks! :) Double click on the image for a closer view.

By the time this Project 365 is over, you're all going to be very tired of my pets! lol We take so many pictures. Don't blame me.. they are CUTE! ;) Anyway, here's a picture of Lily napping today.... c'mon.. you know you want to say it....awwwwwwwwww!

My son just started Yoga classes which are required for baseball being given at his school but the instructor is the instructor who is the yoga instructor for the Notre Dame baseball team. I never heard of such a thing so I Googled and what do you know.. it is for real. It's something new the baseball team is doing twice a week for one hour sessions... Alex just came home and said.. Mom, It's sooo relaxing!

Day 25, 2010

My mother never bought herself anything. I mean we had to beg her to buy anything for herself. She showered us with more than we ever needed, but when it came to herself she always found a reason not to. A year before she passed away she had kept saying she wanted a cross necklace (she was dying from cancer at the time and I think it renewed her belief in her church and religion). We were Christmas shopping for the kids (she had wanted to get each of her grandchildren a piece of jewelry or something they could keep to remind them of her since it was going to be her last Christmas with us). We saw this necklace and she loved it. After much convincing she finally bought it saying "well, I know I won't wear it for long and it will be yours, Lorrie when I'm gone". I wear it everyday, it always reminds me of her. She was the most unselfish, giving woman I've ever known. I miss her everyday. The funny thing is, it's come unclasped a few times and each time it's fallen right in front of me. I just replaced the clasp this past weekend, but I always felt like she was making sure I didn't lose it.

Day 24, 2010

Tonight Ashlea and I went out for Chinese. I still hadn't taken my POD yet and thought I'd take one in the restaurant, then I thought I'd wait till I got home then open and post my fortune cookie. OK.. seriously... what does this mean? I have no fortune to tell?? lol

Day 23, 2010

Saturday - Today started with me getting up and quickly calling Comcast because last night I was talking to Snowmanlover on my cell phone and we kept getting disconnected so I tried to call her back from the house phone and there was no dial tone on my phone which led to a call to Comcast repair department....ok.. I'm getting to my POD...lol Anywho.... the doorbell rings it's the Comcast guy and he goes to work... about two minutes later the bell rings again... another Comcast Guy and a another truck.... hmmm.. must be a major problem.... another five minutes go buy and, yep, you guessed it... truck #3, guy #3. WOW! Must be a real doozey! They tell me it appears like I have a phone off the hook (we've unhooked all the phones in the house, the DirecTV, everything).... so they have to start tracing the lines in the house because a line has gone bad. My home is an older home, so apparently that complicates matters. Guy #3: "Do you have a basement or a crawlspace?".. ME: "Crawlspace". Guy #3 "Where is the access"... Me: (Thinking OMG he's not going to go down there and if I open that closet where the access is I'm really going to be embarrassed) "You're not going to go down there are you?".. Guy #3: "I hope not, but I need to look"... Me: "Oy Vey.".. I open the closet and it's like one of those closets you see on tv.. you open it and there's not one available space in there.. the access to the crawlspace is on the floor, so I start lugging things out... he looks and nope.. no problem down there... (THANK YOU VERY MUCH)... I put it all back in... then he starts looking around and says where's the attic...? OK, now I'm thinking to myself.. "are you freakin' kidding me?!!! It's worse than the closet you were just in!"... so after terrible humiliation they finally got the phone line fixed.. and guess where the problem was... OUTSIDE!

After all that humiliation and swearing to clean out the closets... Doug and I went to Hacienda for a margarita and a shot of Tequila...Arrrrrriiiiibbbbaaaaaaa!

Day 22, 2010

My future son-in-law plays college hockey. He is a senior and getting down to his last final games, so he invited me to go see him play. Tonight I went. I have to say, other than a professional hockey game I went to when I was in 3rd grade, I have never been to a hockey game. It was fast paced, and very entertaining. My POD is of Richie (#17), he's quite the skater!!

Day 21, 2010

I love ribbon. I love ribbon on cards, I love ribbon on my scrapbook pages and I even love digital scrapbook ribbon.... Doug (by the way.. I am not married.. though Doug and I have dated for a very long time) made two of these made for me for Christmas and I was so happy with how they turned out. My room is very, very small, so unfortunately I don't have the space or room to really display it so it shows them off, but I still love them.

Day 20, 2010

This is Lacey. We had her spayed last week and she keeps chewing on her stitches, so we took her to the vet yesterday and he gave us one of those cones to put on her head (along with antibiotics).. well Lacey will only walk backwards with the cone on..LOL (I'm dead serious), so we thought that was kind of cruel to have our kitten moonwalking all over the house.... so here's our solution. A sock I had left over from my foot surgery. We (Ashlea and I) cut a hole on both ends so it was a tube, then cut leg holes... and to make it stay up over her stitches, we threaded a ribbon through the top and tied a bow on top. Lacey is not real happy with us right now, but at least she's walking forwards!

Day 19, 2010

I got my new glasses today. Aren't they fun?!?! I've always gotten glasses that are very unnoticeable. I always tried to get them to blend. Most of the time I wear contacts, but in the evenings I wear my glasses and once in awhile during the day, I decided to go FUN this time. Look at the blue rhinestones on the sides at the temples. I just love them! Ashlea was not so crazy about them... I believe her response was "they're ok". lol

Day 18, 2010

For some time now everytime someone picks up my purse they make a comment... like "Geesh.. what's in here?".... well it occurred to me that it's all a sign of the times. In my purse at this very moment I found all these electronics: my ipod, my Blackberry, camera and my FLIP video. Now this doesn't even account for the normal things, wallet, makeup, pens, checkbook and all the things that seem to collect in a mother's purse. I could probably do without the FLIP in my purse, I rarely feel the need to catch something on video... but what IF I need it and don't have it? The camera I could probably do without, there is a camera on my phone for those unexpected moments...but now that I'm doing Project 365 it only makes sense to have a camera with me... and ok, I can do everything on my Blackberry that I can on the IPOD so I could get rid of it.. but the internet is soooo much faster on the IPOD.... well maybe tomorrow I'll take something out.. for today it all goes back in.

Day 17, 2010

It's Complicated. If you haven't seen this movie ... run to your nearest theater. It is sooo funny. I laughed and laughed. We have been wanting to go to this movie for a few weekends now and something else always comes up, so today... we finally went. It's a cute, funny movie that leaves you smiling. I took this photo inside the theater when the movie started.

This is Doug and I outside the theater, we didn't have anyone to take a photo so we stood in front of the building and took a picture of our reflections. I'm sure the people inside thought... what are they doing?!?!

Day 16, 2010

Today I took my baby girl to try on wedding dresses. A bittersweet challenge. The first of the favorites that she tried on brought tears to my eyes. So hard to believe what a wonderful young woman she has become. I'm so proud of her. I have more photos of all of them, but it was obvious which one we liked the best by the photos we took... so after you tell me your favorites, I'll show you more close ups and the back of the winner... (at least the one she likes the best at this point). She was so excited she didn't want to take the dress off and she grinned ear to ear... I'm pretty sure this is the ONE. She looked absolutely beautiful in all of them.. but these were the top three favorites. She's 100% positive on the one she likes the most, and I agree with her choice, but I'm not going to tell you which one... tell me which one you like.. #1 being the first one under this writing and #3 being the bottom... Day 15, 2010

Tonight was a rarity, the kids and I all home at once and no friends, boyfriends or anyone else home. We went to TGI Friday's for dinner. The kids love to take opportunities like that to tell me things they did that I didn't know about! Always fun.

Day 14, 2010

Today is Thursday and it's my TV night... I love to watch Grey's Anatomy. The show has been on hiatus since the week before Thanksgiving, so I am excited that it's back on tonight... anyway.. I thought I'm going to light a fire, pour a glass of wine and just relax and watch the show tonight.. (normally I'm multi tasking, folding laundry, emptying the dishwasher (you know how it is...).. anyway... my thought for my POD was to take a photo of the beautiful fire... let me tell you, there must be some trick to this because I could not get one photo that showed it how it really looks.. with a flash it looks totally ICK... without flash you can't see it... but look at the cool effects I did catch. It really is a nice fire. Now.. about that wine.......

Day 13, 2010

It's Wednesday ... time to go to work. I work in a private family office with no other women and 3 men. Lucky for me they are very nice men. Unlucky for me is I hear endless hours of football recap, guy movie lines and the entire sports line up for the week. ha ha. It could be so much worse. I have a job, I have a good job and like I said, they are very nice. We do have to dress up in our office, they are in suit and tie everyday and this is my version for today. I spend my weekends as casual as possible and just hate getting dressed up when I'm away from work. Maybe one of these days I will get their photos, but for now... you get my suit! lol

Today's picture is my Jessica Sprague digi class. I absolutely love my classes and have learned so much already. I'm on my second set of classes and plan to continue to the third set as soon as I finish. I highly recommend her classes to anyone wanting to learn digital scrapping and/or Photoshop.

Day 11, 2010

My addiction... yes that's right, my name is Lorrie and I'm a Diet Pepsi Addict. I've tried so many times to give up this nasty habit, to no avail. I must (I repeat) I MUST have my Diet Pepsi each and every morning and continue with a Diet Pepsi until noon, at which time I taper off and try not to drink anymore after 3:00. This is not an exciting POD, but it is very much a part of my DAY to DAY life, so I think it's appropo.

Day 9, 2010

Today Ashlea and I went to Michaels and Joanne's, then stopped at Meijers to get the ingredients for Chili. We came home and made the Chili, then sat down to enjoy some Queso she made. YUMMMO... not great for the diet, but still good. We took this photo with the camera on the computer as we were eating! I was going to take a picture of the GIGANTIC icicles we knocked off the house when we got home, but I'm tired of SNOW pictures! :)

Day 7, 2010

Today is January 7 and on top of the 20+" of snow we already have on the ground, we're supposed to get an additional 5-10". I took this during my lunch hour with my phone and you can't see the snow falling in the picture, but it's coming down like it's never going to stop. Schools are closing, roads are getting bad. This is a main highway just a few blocks from my office. Enough snow already, turn it off.

Day 6, 2010

For my POD I took two pictures of my photo corner. I love photos and have them all over, but this corner is in my family room and it always gives me a warm feeling to look over in this corner. The top shelf is mainly my very sweet brother and his family, the next shelf holds photos of my mother and father who have passed, and the shelf closest is a bit of everything, the bottom are from my son's many, many years of baseball... then in the far corner are photos of the kids from different sports, dances, etc.

Day 4, 2010

Today I decided to take a photo of Alex... it's a rarity that he is downstairs, but of course he's multi-tasking.. texting and facebooking at the same time. He's getting ready to go tubing on the 20" of snow we've got.. notice how dark it is? Yes, tubing in the dark and it's freezing.. Kids!

My plan is to make a digi layout at the end of each week, that I will have printed and put into a book. Since I'm doing my weeks from Sunday-Sat monthly, this week the layout only has two photos.
